Gather 'round all you ghoulish guardians! Before your little monsters set out to trick or treat, let's brush up on some spine-chilling safety tips that are more treat than trick!

Witch Way is Safe?
     • Plan your route in advance. Stick to well-lit streets, and make sure to avoid shortcuts through alleys or unfamiliar paths, and always trick or treat in a neighborhood full of other kids.
     • If you and your kiddo are new to the neighborhood, it might be wise to do a daytime walk-through first.

Ghostly Glow
     • Arm your little goblins with glow sticks or flashlights to make them more visible.
     • Consider reflective tape or stickers on their costumes, making them shine brighter than a vampire's teeth.

Masked Monsters
     • Masks can be ghastly fun but can also block vision. Consider using non-toxic face paint instead.
     • If they're set on a mask, make sure the eye holes are big enough so they see clearly.

Buddy Up with a Boo Buddy!
     • No ghost goes haunting alone. Always go in groups or with a trusted adult. The more, the scarier!

Knock, Knock, Who's There?
     • Only visit homes with a porch light on and NEVER enter a house or car for candy.

Candy Cautions
     • A safety spell should be cast upon all candy! Check treats for signs of tampering before your little monsters devour them.

Wicked Walkways
     • Cross at street corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.
     • Remind them to look left, then right, then left again when crossing. Even zombies need to look both ways!

Drive with the Dead in Mind
     • If you're driving, be extra cautious on Halloween night. Little goblins and ghouls can be unpredictable!
     • Drive slower than usual in residential areas.

Before setting out, gather your little goblins and go over these rules with a fun quiz or role play. Whoever remembers the most rules might get an extra piece of candy... or two!Happy Haunting!
